This Screenwriting Workshop is a three-day intensive designed to develop original Belizean stories for film. Through guided writing, film case studies, and group discussion, participants will explore cinematic storytelling rooted in cultural identity, folklore, and lived experiences.
This workshop marks Phase One of the Belize Film Project development process.
Participants will gain foundational skills in:
- Screenplay formatting using professional software (Final Draft or Celtx)
- Writing compelling scenes
- Short film & feature film story structure
- Genre, tone, theme, and point of view
- Writing loglines and short treatments
- Developing culturally grounded stories rooted in Belizean identity and folklore
- Curated feature and short film case studies from culturally specific global cinema to explore diverse storytelling approaches.
